weekly gratitude

I think I'm supposed to do these on Fridays, but that's OK. I'll be long gone & happily bobbing on some part of Lake Shasta. Spf 30 applied - attempting to keep the freckles at bay.

  • Thank you for Tommy! It's been a couple weeks since T$ and I got to visit him and the rest of our Sequim family but it is a joy to see your happy &  vivacious spirit. I'm praying for you daily as you head east to Boston for surgery. I know they'll love you there and take great care of you.

  • Thank you for peace that passes all understanding. And for tears. And for friends. And for women who have come alongside me.
  • Thank you for vacations away with T$! Quality time is most certainly my love language (ha!) and I got plenty of it as we traveled to Boston, Providence, and Newport (which apparently is not right next to Providence, who knew?).
  • Thank you to Mrs. Grace Liu who married the love of her life last weekend and gave T$ and I an opportunity to vacation together.

tears

Bergamo, Iatly - 2005

And the tears you shed, my grieving one, they are sweeter than the laughing of one seeking to forget, and pleasanter than loud voices in jest. Those tears shall cleanse the heart of hating and teach him that sheds them to be companion to those of broken heart. They are the tears of the Nazarene.

6.9.10

All week I have been thinking about the countdown to June 9th of last year  - also known as 1 year since life changed for me & T$ & everyone we love. To those of you who loved us, brought us meals, cookies, notes, flowers, prayers. I will always be thankful, grateful, humbled, and simply feel loved. Thank you thank you thank you for  walking & sitting by me through this. There are still things that need to be done for her (the leg...yes she's a she because she's attached to me) like having the hardware removed and learning to look and feel graceful when I walk down stairs & hills, but oh! what a difference a year makes.

The passage that brought me through that season of life & still rings true today: "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:4-7

So thank you.  We are so blessed to have such a great community of people who surround us through the good times and the tough times. I hope that we can reciprocate as well when people need love, compassion, and a homemade meal.
Love me some T$

weekly gratitude

  • Thank you for rain that makes NOISE (I know. I'm weird.) I'm super cozy inside and I can hear the rain pounding outside. I love it.
  • Thank you for NATURE. For the ability to walk & use my legs & enjoy it with friends.

  • Thank you for weird days at work (power outages) that make the day go by faster.
  • Thank you to my GRANDMA for having her 70th birthday on Wednesday. I am so so so thankful for her in my life and in my family's life. She loves Christ and is an example of generosity, kindness, and all the good grandma qualities a girl could ask for.
